Troubled Waters: The Bruce
Wayne/Dick Grayson Relationship post-Crisis
by Tracy, 9 September 1998
Author's Notes: I received an e-mail about my web page from Nightwing
fan extraordinaire Louise Freeman (who has also written some VERY highly
recommended fan fiction about Dick Grayson and the Titans - they can be found
at Titans' Lair on the fan
fiction page). We were tossing opinions back and forth about Dick
Grayson's character, especially post-Crisis (something I touched upon in two
of my comics reviews and Louise touches upon in her article "Vanishing Point -
Robin's Revamps: The Good, The Bad and The Gratuitous" in the on-line magazine
Fanzing).
We were discussing Dick and Bruce's relationship and I came up with the
inspiration This would make a good subject for an essay. Since
I have a degree in journalism, I decided to combine that with my love for the
Dick Grayson/Robin/Nightwing character and write some articles discussing
various aspects of Nightwing's character and analysis of some of his cases.
To kick off the section, I am starting with a discussion of Bruce and Dick's
relationship post-Crisis and how it has been handled by writers. Thanks to
Louise for the inspiration! |
